The room was beautiful and immaculate.

I stayed a Friday night into Saturday at the Tipperary Inn and it was a very pleasant stay. The room was beautiful and immaculate. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. I slept with the most amazing blanket ever and I am waiting to hear back from the Tipperary to find out the brand of the blanket so that I can guy one for myself. The only downside was the stairs, they were a little to steep for me. I would absolutely stay at the Tipperary again!

The room was furnished well and services were excellent

My wife booked this place last week for our weekend getaway. We thought it was a great value and enjoyed our stay. The room was furnished well and services were excellent. Too early for the pool, but they had an outside enclosed meditation room which was great and it was within walking distance to the local fishing boats, docks for recreational activities, bars and entertainment. Overall a great value; we enjoyed our stay.

Montauk Point Lighthouse

You can write Most Visited Lighthouse in the country. This is the first Lighthouse built in NYS and is the 4th oldest lighthouse in the United States. It was commissioned by our first President- George Washington and it has been named a National Landmark.  The Montauk Historical Society is now responsible for its care and preservation. Another “must see” when visiting Montauk.

Montauk Point Lighthouse

Giorgina Reid (1908–2001), a textile designer, had saved her Rocky Point, New York cottage from collapse by building a simple set of terraces in the gullies of the bluff. Reid’s concept, Reed-Trench Terracing, called for building the terrace platforms made of various beach debris, notably reeds; the practice appeared to stem the erosion. She patented the process and published an article about it titled “How to Hold up a Bank”.

Montauk Point Lighthouse

Greg Donohue, a Montauk landscaper, worked with Giorgina Reid at the Point and kept the project moving forward after she retired in 1986. With support from various sources, including the Montauk Historical Society and the State of New York, the Erosion Control Project of Montauk Point was successfully completed in 1998.
